Michel Serrault stars in this French crime thriller directed by Claude Miller. Wealthy lawyer Jérôme Martinaud (Serrault) is suspected of the rape and murder of two young girls. Although the evidence against him is only circumstantial, he is interrogated for hours by Inspector Antoine Gallien (Lino Ventura) and Inspector Marcel Belmont (Guy Marchand). He continues to protest his innocence but everything changes when he discovers that his wife Chantal (Romy Schneider) has given the police a damning statement.
