Ryan Gosling stars in this sci-fi adventure directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. When molecular biologist and teacher Ryland Grace (Gosling) wakes from an induced coma to find himself alone aboard a spacecraft light years from Earth, he has no memory of how he came to be there. As his memories slowly return, he realises that the fate of mankind rests on his actions.
With alien microbes slowly killing the sun, the Earth will soon be too cold to support life. As Grace searches for a way to avert a global catastrophe, he discovers that he is not alone after all and the unexpected friendship he forms may hold the key to the survival of two worlds. The cast also includes Sandra Hüller, Lionel Boyce and Ken Leung.
